Virgin Islands Winter Fishing Report

The winter trade winds have been blowing and the sea has been choppy so we have been doing a lot of bottom fishing lately.  The yellow tail, mutton and lane snapper as well as the red hind and red grouper are all great eating and fun to catch on the light tackle.

There have been plenty of jacks and barracudas around as well to stretch out the line and test our knots.  We haven’t been seeing much of any Sargassum weed offshore which is a blessing and a curse but the Mahi should be showing up in good numbers before too long.  The Wahoo bite slowed down a bit but there are still some good hungry ones out on the drops for those looking to venture out for the big game offshore.
