Capt. Andy Thompson

Capt. Andy Thompson is the operations manager and part owner of Reef Surfari Snorkeling.

Like many who end up in the Virgin Islands, he came to America’s Paradise to “escape the traffic and rat race of Maryland and to escape the cold.”

Originally from Baltimore, Capt. Andy has long loved the water and boating. He was a recreational boater a decade before he started his life as a professional boat captain in the U.S. Virgin islands seven years ago.

He’s happy on or in the Caribbean blue waters of the USVI. As a professional diver and SCUBA instructor, he loves being under the water as much as he likes to be topside on a boat. He is also a motorcyclist.

He joined the Ocean Surfari team in 2022 and he enjoys his life and job in the islands.

He feels like those he meets on snorkeling excursions enjoy their time with him “because I am here doing what I love – spending time on and showing others the beautiful waters of the Virgin Islands.”
