Virgin Islands Fishing: Blue Marlin Are Biting!

We are deep into the Blue Marlin season here in the Virgin Islands. Every year when the marlin show up, our captains and mates are constantly saying, “This is what we live for!”

The fish here range in size from 100-700 pounds and feed with vigor, making the bites and fights spectacular. Aerial acrobatics and unparalleled strength are the main characteristics that keep anglers coming back year after year to catch the big game fish.

The season is going well for the Ocean Surfari fleet. Ocean Surfari’s Indigo Team took first place in the 51st July Open Billfish Tournament, the first Virgin Islands Blue Marlin fishing tournament of the year, hosted by the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club. The Ocean Surfari team caught three Blue Marlin and one white, winning by 300 points.
